I CAN'T believe it's packing day! This week went just as fast as the whole trip! I'm really going to miss this place. We had our last days in Albi Wednesday and Thursday. Wednesday was ALL shopping -- I basically finished up my money:) haha Yesterday, we participated in a round table event at the Springfest in Albi. Afterwards, Owen and I got dinner and then we headed back to the festival to see some bands play. It was pretty interesting to see some French punk rock! haha
It was kinda sad to leave Albi. It was a nice little city with plenty to do. Oh & I got my last crepe -- cinnamon and sugar! It was sooo good!
This past week was a pretty busy one. We had our French final on Monday; surprisingly, I didn't do too bad! :) I also have been finishing up my website and economics paper for Tim. One thing I learned is that I hate trying to figure out the WTO! haha
On Tuesday, we took a little excursion! We first headed to Roquefort. Roquefort is one of France's famous cheeses. It's factory is located in a cave in one of the bluffs that was a result of collapsed rocks. The tour was really cool, there was a part with effects to show how the place came to be. The tour guide was very informative and we learned how Roquefort is produced and how it came to be. We missed our English tour, so we joined in on a French tour. The tour guide was very nice though and translated it for us! Oh and I already knew that I hated the cheese, so I only tried a VERY tiny piece! haha
After the tour, we went to Millau. This is the home of the largest suspension bridge. It was built less then 5 years ago and it is amazing! It is soo big!! We got some pictures at a view-point and also watched a video on the creation of it. Then we got to drive over it!! Owen tried to hold his breath for the whole ride over, buuut it was too long.
We then headed to a little medieval town; I can't remember the name off the top of my head! It was cute; it has some little shops with different things in them -- like glass blowers, jewlery makers, leather, etc. It was nice to just walk around in this old town. Oh & it is set up so odd. It's inside a town wall and then the buildings are scattered around so it was difficult for the enemies to attack.
It was a pretty nice last week here in Ambialet. Time goes so fast because we do so much! I'm excited to get home and see everyone, but I will miss Ambialet. I'm really glad I was able to participate in this. I really learned a lot.
Now it's time to pack!:( and I'm the WORST packer ever. I just hope my suitcase isn't over the limit! haha
